Emergency Services

     EMS Patch

Surry County Emergency Services is responsible for providing EMS (Emergency Medical Services) throughout Surry County and within all municipalities. We achieve this goal through specialty care and advanced life support ambulances that are supported by quick response vehicles, Mobile Integrated Health Paramedics (MIH), and response-ready administrative personnel.

We also have personnel cross-trained in specialty services that include technical rescue, hazardous materials, tactical medicine, water recovery, incident management, mass causalities, peer support, and public education.

Community service events are supported through public education displays, sessions, community paramedics, and bicycle response paramedics.

Our providers respond to over 19,000 requests each year through eight ambulances, two quick response vehicles, and three specialty vehicles. We are a progressive service that seeks to serve our county with advanced equipment and care such as our packed red blood cell program. We believe in a whole community approach by being at the highest level of readiness.
